HR for Small Businesses: Urgent Legal Matters



Enforcement and investigation of employer compliance with employment laws is at an all time high. The IRS and U.S. Department of Labor are focusing on employer misclassification of workers as independent contractors instead of employees and as exempt v. non-exempt workers for purposes of overtime compensation. This session will focus on the hardship to a small business resulting from an IRS audit, Department of Labor audit, or civil suit due to misclassifying workers, and presenters will provide valuable information to a small business on how to properly classify your workers to comply with tax requirements and federal employment laws.



Presenters will include Dustin David, a Manager CPA from Trinity Accounting Group, Patrick Garrard, an attorney with Blasingame, Burch, Garrard & Ashley, P.C., and Ralph Cimperman and Scott Williamson with Marathon HR.

WOW, started out this morning in Columbia SC servicing at and training at a Benefit Fair. Now I am in Florence SC, getting ready to attend the 6pm-9pm Benefit Fair and training. On the way from Columbia to Florence we met a lovely young lady and we talked as if we had known each other for years......lookout she could be the next big thing to happen in my new life with LegalShield. FBF keep holding on to your seat.

Good Morning Facebook Family. I am in Anderson South Carolina. I am getting ready to go to Columbia SC To attend a Benefit Fair for one of our companies that have LegalShield as one of their elective benefits for their employees. The Columbia Benefit fair is 2 days long, then off to Florence for 2 days, then Greenville for 1 day and back to Anderson for 2 days. WOW I am very excited.
