I will be doing an update on the status of the Friends group very shortly. Thank you Friends for caring, Carolyn Brouillet

Part 2
I still don't know what year she passed away but some one on an earlier post mentioned "What a shame she wasn't able to enjoy her retirement". I so hope that is not true. What a dedicated lady. Although I did not have her for 2nd grade I did have the honor of spending time with her in Bluebirds.

For those who have inquired about Martha Blackmer, please visit the discussions tab on the Friends page. A touching story posted by Silver Lake School Alumnis, Robert Fellows with the permission of local Author Allen Young. It brought a tear to my eye remembering how good life was for us in the 1960's.

Can anyone out there answer the question about Ms. Blackmer for Cyndi?
I didn't live in the area for 20 years, so I don't know what year she passed or any other info.

Hello Friends. For those that didn't hear the news, Mrs. "Molly" Dudis passed away last Wednesday, July 7th. She was a most gracious, lovely lady. I'm attaching the obit from Higgins O'Connor Funeral Home. You can also visit their site for condolences.
There will be no services, which is a shame. I would have liked to have payed my respects. She was one of my favorite teachers of all.
Marietta M. Dudis Athol – Marietta “Molly” (Marshall) Dudis, 96, formerly of McGregor Street, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
Molly was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, May 19, 1914, the daughter of
George and Mary Belle (Coburn) Marshall. She attended Fitchburg Schools graduating from Fitchburg High School in 1931, Abbott (Andover) Academy in 1932 and from the University of Vermont in 1936. She was a service representative for the New England Telephone Company from 1937 to 1946. Following her marriage in 1946 to Dr. John A. Dudis, an Athol dentist she moved to Athol. In September of 1957 she started her teaching career as a third grade teacher at the former Lake Park School.
In 1962 she moved her classes to Silver Lake School where she taught until her retirement in 1979. Molly was a former member and director of the Ellinwood Country Club, the Athol Women’s Club, Athol Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Athol Council on Aging. She was also an active member of the First Church Unitarian where she served on many committees and worked on many church fairs. She was active in the Unity Club of the church and was a member of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association. She leaves a brother, George A. Marshall, Jr. of Fitchburg; three nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Marshall who died in 2005. At Molly’s request no services are planned and a private burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Fitchburg at the convenience of the family.
