Please meet Alicia Teague, M.Ed., N.C.C.

Alicia Teague was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Miramar, Fl and has been living in Atlanta, GA since starting college in 2006. She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University in 2010 and then her Masters of Education in School Counseling degree from Georgia State University in 2013. In 2014, her life changed forever when her and her husband were arrested. After 21 days in jail and being out on bond for four months, all of her charges were dropped. For the next 40 months while her husband was incarcerated, she rebuilt her life and eventually helped him rebuild his own upon his return home. Today Alicia works as a High School Counselor and volunteers serving as the CPR Program Development Manager at the National Incarceration Association.

I wanted to take a second to introduce our team. First up

Mr. Chris O'Neill, CCTS-I, CCST-F, M.A

My story mirrors those that grew up in underserved neighborhoods; fatherless and a mother dealing with her stresses that lead to her addiction. Unfortunately, I became another young man heading for the grave or prison. Fortunately, the latter happened because I now have the opportunity to share my story. My lifestyle lead me to spend close to 28 years of my life in prison; just released from doing 19 1/2 years straight. During this second stint, I knew I wanted to live different. I did not want to waste my life in prison. Fortunately I landed in a prison that offered opportunities to change. I was able to earn my Bachelor in Science and a Master Degree. I had the opportunity to facilitate a youth awareness program. Speaking to both at-risk youths and those that think that they weren’t at risk do to mommy and daddy’s wallet. I also spent many years helping other men earn their degrees and are now successful. I lived through many facets of trauma; some not recognized. My goal is to help returning citizens understand trauma and it effects while preparing them for success. My experience, education and training helps me to help others. I look forward to all opportunities.

Our lived experience enables us to offer effective outpatient, individualized, therapeutic care for those who been previously incarcerated. We treat a number of mental health disorders, and provide a neutral ground to individuals, families, and couples. We specialize in Trauma and (PICS) Post Incarceration Syndrome.
