Our team wore orange today in recognition of National Gun Violence Awareness Day. 🧡

We wear orange to honor those whose lives have been impacted by gun violence, support survivors and their families, and raise awareness about an issue that affects far too many communities.

Today and every day, we remain committed to supporting victims and working toward safer communities.

June is Gun Violence Awareness Month, and tomorrow, June 5th, we invite you to join us in wearing orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

At AVA, we see firsthand the devastating impact of gun violence. We also know that awareness, education, prevention, and support all play a role in creating safer communities.

Wear orange tomorrow to honor lives impacted by gun violence.

AVA is committed to being present in the communities we serve.

This past weekend, AVA Executive Director Shontel Brunson-Wright attended a Women in Business Expo—organized by the Nu Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.—featuring women-owned businesses, professional services, and community resource providers like AVA. Events like these provide valuable opportunities to connect with residents, share information about victim services, and build relationships that help ensure support is available when it’s needed most.

Many of those we serve are women, making these conversations and connections especially meaningful. We are grateful for every opportunity to raise awareness about our important work and available resources.

Most people know what to do during a crime — call 911. But many don’t know what happens next.

That’s why AVA created The Path Forward, a series of short videos designed to help victims and families better understand what to expect after a crime and how to navigate the criminal justice process.

One of our key partners, the City of Atlanta Police Department, participated in this series because they share our commitment to ensuring victims have access to clear information, support, and resources during difficult moments.
