During National Police Week 2026, we honor the brave men and women of law enforcement who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving their communities. This week is a time to recognize the courage, sacrifice, and commitment carried by those who wear the badge — and to remember the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Fulton County Marshal’s Office proudly remembers one of our own, Deputy Marshal David Larry Folds, who was killed in the line of duty on December 28, 1977, while responding to assist a wounded officer during an eviction. Without hesitation, Deputy Marshal Folds answered the call to protect others and ultimately gave his life in service to this community.
Deputy Marshal Folds served with the Fulton County Marshal’s Department for three years and leaves behind a legacy of courage, honor, and selfless service that will never be forgotten.
This National Police Week, we honor his memory and all fallen officers who gave everything in the line of duty.
“Respect. Honor. Remember.”
