🚨 Day 1 of 27 Days of POWER starts now! 🚨

As we celebrate Pride Month and prepare for National HIV Testing Day, we're encouraging everyone to take one simple but powerful step: Know Your Status.

Getting tested is an act of self-love, strength, and responsibility. Whether it's your first test or part of your routine care, today is a great day to prioritize your health.

At P.O.W.E.R. Atlanta, we believe that knowledge is power, prevention is strength, and community matters.Throughout the next 27 days, we'll be sharing HIV education, prevention tools, resources, and opportunities to connect to care.

When POWER Atlanta speaks, community is at the center. 💜

Our team member Loreal recently had the opportunity to share POWER Atlanta’s work as part of the Atlanta Alliance Against Trafficking Taskforce, an initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Violence Reduction (MOVR).

She walked partners through who we are, what we do, and why our work matters, from health education and prevention to resource navigation, victim assistance, and community support.

This is the kind of room we’re proud to be in. The work to address trafficking, violence, health disparities, and community instability takes all of us moving with purpose and staying connected.

Big love to Loreal for representing POWER Atlanta with clarity, care, and confidence.

We’re not just doing the work. We’re helping shape the conversations that move it forward.

Atlanta showed up, and the room was full of POWER!!

From health screenings and stigma-free testing to resources, raffles, vendors, food, music, and meaningful moments of connection, our Passport to Wholeness Empowerment & Health Resource Fair brought community care to life.

Thank you to everyone who came out, asked questions, received resources, shared love, and helped make the day special. We are especially grateful to our partners and vendors who showed up ready to serve, support, educate, and pour into our neighbors.

This is what wholeness looks like: access, care, joy, information, and community all in one place.

Thank you for helping us make it happen. We are grateful, energized, and already looking forward to what’s next.

No neighbor should go hungry.

On World Hunger Day, we are bringing attention to the reality of food insecurity right here in our community and the support available every week through the POWER Pantry.

Our barrier-free food pantry is open every Thursday from 1 PM to 6 PM, offering fresh food, pantry staples, and community support without unnecessary hoops.

Pull up, spread the word, or share this with someone who may need it. 🥬

Someone you care about may be navigating both a mental health condition and substance use.

What they need most is steady, consistent support. That can start with you, and when more support is needed, it’s always within reach.

Help is available 24/7. Call or text 988 anywhere in the U.S.

On International Missing Children’s Day, we recognize that trafficking and exploitation thrive in the shadows of unmet needs. We recognize that human trafficking and exploitation often stem from gaps. Gaps in housing, family support, and resources that leave individuals vulnerable to disappearances and broken families. Trafficking doesn’t begin with a headline; it begins with unmet needs.

That’s why our EmPOWERED Restoration program exists: to close those gaps and create pathways to safety, stability, and healing.

During National Military Appreciation Month, POWER Atlanta honors the service, sacrifice, and commitment of those who have worn the uniform. 🇺🇸

To our Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard service members, veterans, and military families: thank you for the courage, discipline, and devotion you have given in service to this country.

Your service matters. Your story matters. Your community sees you.

With gratitude today and always.

Listening goes further than people think.

When a young person feels heard, they feel safer opening up about what they’re really going through. That kind of space can make all the difference.

Take the time. Stay present. Let them know they don’t have to carry it alone.
