On August 1, 2023 National Night Out (NNO) celebrated 40 years of service to the community. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. It also works to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

Our agency participated in NNO events in the cities of Sandy Springs and South Fulton. We were able to engage with other public safety agencies, local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community members. This provided another opportunity to showcase our phenomenal agency outside of the school setting.

At our South Fulton location we held a free bike raffle where we were able to give 3 bikes to some deserving community members.

Sgt. Moody was visited by one of her former GREAT students.

On Saturday 07/29 members of the Fulton County Schools Police Department participated in “First Day Fulton” at Benjamin Banneker High School and North Springs High School. First Day Fulton allows students and their families to engage with all levels of school district staff prior to the start of the school year. At both of these locations officers engaged with FCS employees, students, local businesses, and community members.

During the week on June 12th the Fulton County Schools Police Department’s Police Athletic/Activities League (PAL) launched its inaugural flag football minicamp at McNair Middle School. It was a week filled with fun, mentoring, and football. During this week, we took the opportunity to learn about each of our students and how they view the world. We discussed life skills, decision making, resiliency, and conflict resolution. Our students engaged daily with our volunteer officers on various topics of discussion. At the culmination of our program, they received some great advice from former professional and college football players. Our students enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to our next set of programs.
