Elect KOYA

Elect KOYA KOYA will work to Make South Fulton the Best City to Live, Work, & Play because of safe neighborhoods, great jobs & economic opportunities for businesses.

KOYA OLATERU is Candidate for District 1, City Council, South Fulton. KOYA Olateru has resided in South Fulton for over 26 years. In 1989 he founded the Metro Brokers Insurance Company in College Park on Old National Highway. He is also the CEO of the construction company, MB Enterprises, Inc. As a neighbor and businessman, KOYA envisions the new city of South Fulton as a success story in every ma

nner. He understands what is needed: 1) Your Voice deserves to be heard; 2) an economic development plan representing unique opportunities of the community; 3) a crime prevention plan; 4) and most saliently, a formation plan outlining the logistics and mechanics of creating a vibrant new city. A man of results, KOYA grew his insurance business from a small one-room office in 1989 to building over six(6) offices throughout the South Fulton area over a 10 year period. Since 2004, even in an industry challenged by significant technological changes and high turnover, KOYA managed a high retention level of his customers by serving them with consistent integrity and honesty. KOYA remembers his late father’s charge, “What is worth doing, is worth doing well!” KOYA was offered a scholarship by Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA to join its tennis team. While leading his team to several NCAA championships, he took advantage of the educational opportunity, and earned his BA in Mass Communications in 1982. KOYA earned his Master’s degree in Public Relations a year later from Southern University and Louisiana State University. KOYA will earn his Doctorate degree from Walden University in Public Policy after defending his thesis on juvenile delinquency & recidivism in Atlanta, 2017. Soon after arriving in the United States, KOYA established his service to the community by volunteering directly under Ms. Coretta Scott King at the King Center for Nonviolence in Atlanta. It was that experience over the years that inspired him to become an American citizen in 1989. For decades, Koya has served his community extensively on boards and coalitions. However, his passion has been to mentor and sponsor youth sports programs. KOYA’s pride and joy is his family. At Ben Hill United Methodist Church, 21 years ago, Koya wed the Atlanta native Christine Glenn(Fulton County Schools). They continue to be members of that church raising twin boys now in their teens. Femi and Fola are scholars actively participating in athletics, Boy Scouts of America, and the C-5 Georgia Coca-Cola Youth Leadership Program.
