A big thank you to Happy Tails Pet Therapy for visiting our Elementary Campus today! Happy Tails connects trained volunteer pets with schools and other organizations throughout metro Atlanta, using the healing power of the human-animal bond to bring comfort, connection, and joy. Our students loved spending time with these special four-legged visitors, and there were plenty of smiles, cuddles, and wagging tails all around!

Big news from the ANCS Farm! ANCS has been selected to receive the Georgia Department of Education’s Garden of the Season recognition as part of the Georgia Farm to School Award!

Garden of the Season is the highest level of recognition for school gardens and farm-to-school efforts. We’re especially proud to receive this honor after earning Silver and Gold awards in years past.

This recognition is truly a team effort and celebrates the work of our farm team, nutrition team, students, staff, families, and volunteers who help make our farm such a special part of the ANCS experience.

The Georgia Department of Education will visit ANCS later this school year to officially present the award and tour our farm.

While our families are enjoying the final days of summer, our faculty and staff are already back together preparing for an amazing school year. At today's annual retreat, we reflected on this year's theme inspired by June Jordan's words: "We are the ones we have been waiting for." We spent the day thinking about the incredible impact one teacher can have in the life of a child - and the role each of us plays in helping every student thrive.

We also celebrated members of our ANCS family whose dedication has shaped our community for years.

Several ANCS drama students, both past and present, are spending this week at Broadway Dreams, an immersive musical theater intensive. Following auditions, they were selected to participate in this prestigious program alongside performers ranging in age from kid to adult.

Throughout the week, they are putting in 9+ hour days training with industry professionals, sharpening their performance skills, and rehearsing for Saturday’s showcase. We can’t wait to see how they bring what they’ve learned back to the ANCS stage next school year!

We made it to the last day of the 2025–26 school year! Today was full of celebration with awards for running and perfect attendance, plenty of Field Day fun, and time together as a school family before summer begins.

To our 8th graders and their families, we are so proud of you and wish you all the best in this next chapter. Remember, you will always have a home at ANCS.

The week of celebrations continued this morning as we welcomed back ANCS alumni who are now preparing to graduate from high school. It was so special to celebrate them at Morning Meeting, hear about what’s ahead, and reflect on how far they’ve come since their days at ANCS. This morning, we had the incredible honor of celebrating Kelly Dennis, whose impact on ANCS over the past 24 years is truly impossible to measure. Throughout her time at ANCS, Kelly has worn countless hats, supported generations of students and families, and helped shape the heart of our school community.

During this special gathering, students, teachers, parents, and colleagues shared heartfelt messages reflecting on Kelly’s kindness, dedication, steady presence, and the many ways she has touched lives across our community. The celebration concluded with the entire school singing a special song for Kelly, a sweet way to cap off a special morning together.

It was especially meaningful to see founding members of the ANCS community standing alongside current staff and parents to celebrate Kelly’s extraordinary commitment and lasting legacy. That kind of full-circle moment speaks volumes about the impact she has had on this school over more than two decades.

Kelly, thank you for the care, compassion, and love you have poured into ANCS for 24 years. Once a Wolf, always a Wolf. 🐺💙

This year’s Yearbook Club did an outstanding job putting together a book filled with the moments, friendships, and memories that made this school year special. These students dedicated countless hours to designing pages, selecting photos, and bringing the yearbook to life: Abbie Cobb, Liam Bier, Kendall Brannan, Maxine Cross, Pfeiffer Dojnik, Calvin Lennon, Soleil Lutz, Louie Monnier, Anna Paisley, Dottie Nowak, Oliver Furtsch, Cora Teusink, and Natalie Womack.
