Two Wolves had a special start to their day! During Middle Campus Morning Meeting, Mike Brown from Atlanta Track Club presented Nola England and Ali Restrepo with Runner of the Week awards. 🐺🏃‍♀️

The award recognizes runners for not only for fast times but also exceptional effort. Congratulations, Nola and Ali!

ANCS celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month today with a special Colombian meal! 🇨🇴 Chef Bradley shares a look at the delicious dishes our kitchen prepared.

Students chose between Ajiaco Colombiano, a Colombian chicken and potato soup, and Carimañolas de Queso, yuca fritters filled with cheese. The meal also included mixed salad, rustic Colombian salsa, white rice with garlic, and coconut rice pudding for dessert.

We stand in solidarity with the students, families, and staff of Maynard Jackson High School. Racism and harassment have no place in our schools or our communities.

Atlanta Public Schools and Maynard Jackson High School are deeply concerned by reports that members of our marching band were subjected to racist language while departing Jefferson High School and loading buses following Friday night’s game.

Racism, harassment, and any behavior that threatens the safety or dignity of students are unacceptable. While no students were physically harmed, APS takes these allegations seriously and is committed to ensuring a thorough review of the matter. We are working closely with the administration at Jefferson High School to investigate all allegations related to Friday's football game so that appropriate action can be taken based on the findings. APS is continuing to gather information and provide support to the students, families, and staff affected.

Additional counseling support will be available to students at Maynard Jackson High School beginning Monday, September 14. Students may also access support through the district’s Talk It Out platform by visiting: www.atlantapublicshools.us
