KIPP Atlanta Schools Empowering tomorrow's leaders through quality education today.

KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools is part of the growing network of KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) schools across the nation. KIPP is a network of tuition-free, public charter schools dedicated to preparing students with the skills and confidence to ​pursue the paths they choose—college, career, and beyond—so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world. There are 270 KIPP schools with nearly 10,000 educators and more than 160,000 students and alumni. In Metro Atlanta, there are currently 11 KIPP schools--including four elementary schools, five middle schools, one high school, and one partnership school--as well as our alumni support program, KIPP Forward, which supports alumni through college, career, and beyond.

The KIPP Atlanta Schools community is saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Kelvin Smith, a former educator in our network.

Mr. Smith taught at KIPP WAYS and was a founder teacher at KIPP Woodson Park Academy. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones, former students, and everyone grieving this loss. Our thoughts are with the Smith family and all who are mourning at this time.

At KIPP ATL, literacy is the foundation for everything our scholars will do next.

Through our 2030 Strategic Plan, we’re setting an ambitious goal: Double the percentage of scholars who are proficient or distinguished in English Language Arts from 25% to 50% by 2030.

Reaching that goal takes ALL of us! This is how we build Excellent Schools. This is how we create Expansive Futures. This is Education Powered by Love! 💙

Expansive Futures means more than getting to graduation. It means having a clear path to what comes next.

With the support of amazing programs such as KIPP Forward, our scholars receive the guidance, resources, and continued support they need to explore their options, pursue their goals, and turn opportunity into long-term success.

As part of our 2030 Strategic Plan, Excellent Schools, Expansive Futures, we’re setting a bold goal: double the percentage of KIPP Atlanta graduates earning a four-year college degree within six years, from 32% to 64% by 2030.

And our commitment doesn’t end when scholars cross the graduation stage. We’re walking alongside them as they navigate college, advocate for themselves, overcome challenges, and work toward the futures they’ve imagined.

For our scholars, being at school means more than simply being present in class. It means staying on track academically, spending meaningful time with friends and teachers, participating in the activities they love, and continuing to build toward their goals.

As one of our eighth-grade scholars reminds us, missing even one day can mean missing important lessons, assignments, experiences, and connections. Her message to her peers is simple: keep pushing, even on the days when showing up feels hard. 💫
