On the East Coast it is Hurricane Season! Let's remember to be prepared in case of an emergency.

Emergency Preparation seems to be on everyone's mind whenever inclement weather threatens to hit our corner of the United States. I've always been a person who likes to be prepared but I'll be honest, getting an emergency kit together has never been a high priority. I did, however, already have a sm...

While each and every one of our blood drives is important, we especially need your help right now! To reserve your donation time, go to www.redcrossblood.org and use the Sponsor Code “atfece”. We currently have approximately 58% of our time slots STILL AVAILABLE for this Wednesday and Thursday in the SNAFC.

Severe weather conditions across the country have led to a major deficit in the nation’s blood supply. More than 200 blood drives have been forced to cancel. In addition, holiday schedules and seasonal illnesses collectively contributed to more than 28,000 fewer donations in November and December.

The need for blood is constant – every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. In fact, each day, the American Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 units of blood to meet the needs of patients at around 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers

"The White House’s 1.9 percent pay raise, which was first proposed in Trump’s fiscal 2018 budget request and is less than the 2.4 percent increase approved by Congress for members of the military, is split into a 1.4 percent increase in base pay, and a 0.5 percent to locality pay."

OPM released its pay tables for employees across government shortly after President Trump released his executive order authorizing a 1.9 percent increase for civilian federal workers.
