Bike to School Day celebrations are rolling across Georgia! 🚲🍎

This week, students at Carrollton City Schools joined the ’s Schools Bike Bus Pilot, riding together along the Carrollton Greenbelt with dedicated adult leaders leading the way. Riders were welcomed with snacks, bike safety goodies, and plenty of community spirit along the route to school.
More than 20 Georgia schools are participating in Bike Month events, helping students build healthy habits and safer routes to school.

What an incredible
morning at Indian Creek Elementary!
Over 600 super walkers, DeKalb Fire Rescue, and Ladybug for Girls brought all the fun for the International Walk to School Day celebration!
We were honored to present Safe Routes to School and reinforce pedestrian safety education for all students and 17 parents after the walk.
Big thanks to our amazing champion, principal, staff, families, and dedicated crossing guards — and to GDOT for the continued support! "

We had such a great time at the Pop-Up Safety Town in Augusta, GA, hosted by the awesome team at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia!

Our Georgia Safe Routes to School team was out teaching kids how to safely cross the street and ride their bikes — and they did a great job! 🙌 From using crosswalks to riding through a fun bike course, these kids learned important safety tips in a hands-on (and super fun) way.

Big thanks to everyone who came out and to the Children’s Hospital for having us! 💛

What a morning for GA Safe Routes! 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Hawthorne Elementary (DeKalb Schools) had 40 walkers, 1 scooter & 6 bikers + 3 safety assemblies! 🙌 Way to go!

Lake Forest Hills Elementary (Richmond County Schools) also hosted a fantastic International Walk & Roll to School Day celebration! 🎉!!

Thanks to their principals, students, families, staff members, GDOT, and communities for making it a huge success across Georgia! 💙

🎉 We loved being part of the DeKalb County District Hispanic Heritage Fiesta!

Over 900 community members came together to celebrate culture, connection, and safety. 💫

The Safe Routes to School team was proud to once again participate in the Go Georgia Bike, Walk, Live Summit in Columbus, GA! We gained valuable insights and had the chance to experience firsthand the impressive walking and biking infrastructure that makes Columbus such a model for active transportation.

🌟Huge success at Brockett Elementary! 🌟

Yesterday, over 500 walkers came together in a huge walking school bus for International Walk to School Day.

Big thanks to the principal, school champion, staff, families, the Tucker HS band, DeKalb County Schools, DeKalb Police, the City of Tucker and GDOT for making it a safe, fun, and unforgettable celebration! 💛👟🚲

We celebrated this morning with King Springs Elementary on their Walking Wednesday!

Students, families, and staff took steps toward safer, healthier, and a more connected school community. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️✨

Walking and rolling to school builds lifelong healthy habits, reduces congestion around campus, and helps students arrive ready to learn. 💡📚 Together, we’re creating safer streets and stronger neighborhoods.
