We also provide programs and support services for at-risk youth in Columbus Ga, Metro Atlanta & Nigeria West Africa. Our purpose is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and youth from ages 0 to 21, of any race, ethnicity, economic status, religion, gender or residential situation. We envision a community that produces proactive people who are able to utilize the tools and skill
s they acquire through education, to help build a more efficient society. Our focus is education and our mission is to positively impact our youth, by providing the essential needs a child may require in order to develop into an effective member of their community. The children we help live in poverty stricken areas, they have below average test scores, they lack physical amenities for effective learning, there is a need for mentoring and there is also a need of the three basic necessities of life, adequate food, proper clothing and shelter. In an effort to help close the academic achievement gap that exists between the children who come from affluent homes and those who are less fortunate, Children 1st CDS offers programs to citizens in seven counties in the MetroAtlanta area of the United States (Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Fayette and Henry), and in areas of Nigeria , Africa. Programs include, but are not limited to tuition assistance, free education, tutoring, school materials, books, pencils, paper, laptop computers, updated technological devices, food, shelter, and access to clean water, health and fitness training, forums, educational seminars on HIV, AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis.
