I want to take a moment to say a big thank you and to share some exciting news.

As you know, I was required to stand for election this year. Since I was blessed with the opportunity to serve DeKalb County as a State Court judge over two years ago, I have worked hard to be the best judge I can be and, despite a global pandemic, to introduce myself to people in every corner of the county because I believe judges are a part of the community we serve. During the last year, I have prepared for the possibility of a contested election by building out a campaign team and asking for your support. You responded by helping me raise more than $100,000 without an opponent. Thank you.

I am excited to share that our hard work and your support paid off. Qualifying ended at noon this past Friday and I did not draw opposition. That means that my name is the ONLY name on the ballot for my position and I will get to serve this great county for four more years! (I still need your vote, so please do not skip my name.)

On behalf of my husband Joe, our children, the entire campaign committee and team and, from the bottom of my heart, thank you! I am truly humbled by this honor and understand the responsibility associated with it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am excited to share that I have officially qualified for the May election! Qualifying is the last step to becoming an official candidate. My name will appear on the May 24th ballot of EVERY registered voter in DeKalb County. Leading up to the election, I look forward to continuing my meetings with citizens and organizations throughout the county.

Thank you, again, for all of your support since I joined the bench--I appreciate you, and it is a privilege to serve as one of your DeKalb County State Court judges. My judicial service is truly the honor of my career.

Thank you so much Pastor Simmons for having us this morning. Antioch AME is a special place and I enjoyed the special message from the guest minister, Rev. Alan Reese. The faith community is a huge part of what makes DeKalb such a great county and Antioch is at the front of all that's good about home.

Kicked off the weekend speaking to admitted law school students followed by moderating a stellar panel of DeKalb community leaders about the impact of human trafficking here in DeKalb County for Junior League of DeKalb. Thankful for the opportunity to serve!

Martin Luther King Day is special because it reminds us of the importance of service. Being willing to serve means being willing to humble ourselves to help others. When we lower ourselves and uplift others, we have less time to fight each other.

I am thankful for the sacrifices of Dr. and Mrs. King and their family. This day is more than a day because service is more than a single act. I am blessed to be in public service as a career and thankful for the opportunity to do it, but I am committed to continuing to extend my service beyond the bench. I believe that's what we are called to do and today is a reminder to seek out every opportunity to stand up for my fellow person through finding ways to serve.

Thank you, Dr. King and the King family, for your example and your sacrifices, including the ultimate sacrifice.

As most of you know- I will be on the ballot next year for my current position as a State Court judge in DeKalb County. It has been an honor to serve DeKalb since I was appointed in 2019, and I hope to stay on the bench in years to come.

There is a big campaign contribution report deadline at the end of this year, and I am close to my 2021 fundraising goal.

I’d love to have your support! You can donate online here: https://judgekimberlyanderson.com or send a check to Georgians for Kimberly Anderson, P.O.Box 3755 Decatur, GA 30031.
