It is part of the CIFAL Global Network of training centres affiliated to the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Atlanta (CIFAL Atlanta) was created in 2004 with the support of the City of Atlanta. It is a collaboration between the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Kennesaw State
University (KSU) with the objective of providing training opportunities to government officials and civil society leaders from the Americas. CIFAL Atlanta offers training activities on airport management, economic development, social inclusion and youth engagement. Through its training activities, the Centre facilitates multi-stakeholder collaboration and best practices exchange. KSU was selected by UNITAR to host and manage the CIFAL Atlanta due to its leadership in innovative teaching and learning, as well as its expertise on international development. KSU is the third largest university in the State of Georgia, USA. Training areas:

About UNITAR & the CIFAL Global Network
CIFAL Global Network is the network of training centers affiliated with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). It is composed of 16 centers dedicated to strengthening the capacities of governmental authorities and leaders of civil society to promote sustainable development. El Centro Internacional de Formación de Autoridades y Líderes en Atlanta (CIFAL Atlanta) fue creado en el 2004 con el apoyo de la Ciudad de Atlanta. Actualmente es una colaboración entre el Instituto de las Naciones Unidas para la Formación Profesional e Investigaciones (UNITAR) y Kennesaw State University, con el objetivo de brindar oportunidades de capacitación a funcionarios públicos y líderes de la sociedad civil de las Américas. CIFAL Atlanta ofrece capacitación en gestión aeroportuaria, desarrollo económico, e inclusión social y participación de la juventud. A través de sus actividades de formación también contribuye a facilitar la colaboración y el intercambio de buenas prácticas. La Universidad KSU fue seleccionada por UNITAR para ser anfitrión del Centro CIFAL Atlanta debido a su liderazgo en enseñanza y aprendizaje innovadores, así como por su especialidad en desarrollo internacional.
