Looking back at a truly special day for the North Georgia Technical College community! ✂️✨

We are still smiling over the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand-new Dr. Mark A. Ivester Center for Living and Learning on the Clarkesville campus. Named in honor of NGTC's late president, this incredible facility transforms a former gymnasium into a vibrant hub where students and the community can gather, learn, and grow together—exactly as Dr. Ivester envisioned.

The opening celebration featured a wonderful program with the Ivester family, remarks from our own TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier, and a great turnout from the community (complete with tours and some iconic food from The Varsity!).

Congratulations to May Saysombath of Columbus Technical College, who was named the 2026 TCSG GOAL Student of the Year and drove away in a brand new Kia Sportage courtesy of Kia Georgia! Congratulations also goes to Christopher Davis, automotive technology instructor from Augusta Technical College, who was also honored as the 2026 TCSG Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year! Both were honored in Buckhead in front of 700 guests of the 2026 GOAL and Rick Perkins Banquet and Awards ceremony.
