Author Hannah Palmer Talks With WABE's Molly Samuel
in Northside Spotlight Event
August 19 at 6:00 P.M.

In this special author event, Northside puts the spotlight on Atlanta's award-winning author, Hannah S. Palmer. She will be in conversation with WABE's Molly Samuel, herself an award winner for her environmental journalism.
They will discuss Hannah's two books of creative nonfiction about Atlanta —

The Pool is Closed: Segregation, Summertime, and the Search for a Place to Swim (2024). This story of pool hopping across the Metro with two young sons in tow uncovers the changing history of Atlanta swimming access and social encounters with water.

Flight Path: A Search for Roots Beneath the World's Busiest Airport (2017). This book about the disappearance of childhood homes and their communities into the growth of Atlanta's international airport was named by Atlanta Magazine as one of the "essential books that explain today's Atlanta."
— and trace Hannah's career trajectory as a memoir writer, leader in urban river restoration, and an important voice about the community histories behind Atlanta's ever-developing city landscape.

Come meet Hannah and Molly at Northside on August 19 at 6:00 P.M.

Bookmiser will have Hannah's books available for purchase and signing.
