Thought I was done posting last minute thoughts pre election, but here's one more piece. Looks like Briley township could be in some hot water, for improper filing of reports. This is straight from the state of Michigan, while I'm not certain whose responsibility it falls under, I do know the challenger for County Treasurer was named head of finance or some title like that from the current administration. Now if that's true and reports are being missed or filed wrong, putting the township at risk that concerns me and should concern you as voters too. Listen some will say this is a attempt to slander a candidate, believe me it's not. I have nothing but respect for the Rogers family. They are good folks, strong roots and ties to the community. But electing officials should not be based on if you went to school with someone or they coached your kids. It should be based on ability, being a CEO of a office. We know Cheri does and lives this and has for four years. Can you feel safe voting tomorrow against her if we are already seeing errors on a smaller level?

Tomorrow is the day, I want to leave one final piece of information with the voters of Briley Township. Tomorrow when your standing in line to vote remember this story. My last and only interaction with the township was not a great one. According to the State of Michigan, anyone wanting to file their intent to run for write in had until October 25 to do so. I waited until the very last minute to decide to run. At 3pm on the 25th I drove by the township to file, but noticed they were closed. I then went to the county office to file, to which I couldn't because it's not a county position. But nobody had answers on what to do. So after many phone calls to the township supervisor I was told to go to the office and someone would be there to get me filed. I no more than walk into the building, go to greet the current clerk and am stabbed with hostility. First thing I'm told is that I'm lucky he agreed to come take my paperwork, because they are closed on Fridays and it doesn't matter what the state deadline is. I laughed because I thought he was joking, he then says let me see if this is filled out correctly, because if it's not I'm not waiting here you won't get to file. I'm getting irritated at this point but keep my cool, paperwork checks out, he files, then looks me in the eyes and tells me I'm wasting my time and energy, there's 400 ballots already back without my name on them and nobody is voting for me. Folks I gotta say it takes a lot of guts to openly show your distaste for anyone running for office that opposes you, but these folks do it daily. They hate being challenged, confronted etc. They want their yes men and woman, the go along get a long crowd. I promise you that's the last thing I am. Sorry this is so long, but worth sharing in my opinion. I think it's time for change in our township, county, state, and country!!

One and a half days left for early voting. Be sure you do your research and ask candidates what their vision is for improving our townships and county. We've heard from cheri eggett about her vision to continue work on foreclosure forgiveness , rainy day funds, and making your tax dollars work for you. We know Mike Karll plans to reign in the budget, save taxpayers money by opting out of benefits, and taking a more personal approach with business owners. My vision is to continue to clean up voter roles, and build a sense of transparency and integrity within briley twp. My question to you that have yet to vote, is what do other candidates envision for our next four years?

For those of you that don't know me, my name is Tim Jacobs. I am a husband, and father of 5. I am a mail carrier, little league coach, believer of christ. In August I ran for the position of county clerk, and lost. After much consideration and eating hearty servings of humble pie, I decided to give myself another shot. A shot at a smaller township office, the office of Briley twp clerk. A big message I took from August is folks want to see experience. I feel while I have a vast amount of leadership, business, and HR experience, the political world is something I lack. I am running for a write in November 5, to gain that experience, I want to build upon the work our current administration has done, as well as working along side our trustees and board members to best serve the citizens of Briley. Transparency and integrity will be at the forefront of my objectives if elected clerk, if issues of my department or concerns are brought to my attention you can be assured they will be addressed and a resolution issued. I want to work with the people, not against. So I ask you, please consider writing in a true republican for briley clerk now through November 5.

2 days of early voting down, 7 more to go. I'll be voting early tomorrow all set to write in cheri eggett for county Treasurer, Mike karrl for sheriff and Myself for briley clerk. I was told by some of the current administration in the township I have no chance and am wasting my time. It would be an absolute shame if we the people proved them wrong wouldn't it? Help me win the early vote and send a message, together we can do this :)

This election it is imperative that we keep or elect Republicans into office. We have to stop the madness. My decision to run last minute for township clerk was partly based on no real republican running for this office. Please consider writing in a true republican on November 5
