As our cadets head off for summer training—including Advanced Camp, Basic Camp, Airborne, Air Assault, and internships—our incoming Stingers are preparing both mentally and physically for their new journey. To motivate them, we'll kick off a fitness challenge starting June 1, 2025, with weekly winners announced on our social media. Give them a shout to keep morale high—someone’s getting it early! Last month, eight Cadets from Stinger Battalion had the opportunity to compete in the Spartan Race, a course ranging from 3.1 to 13 miles and consisting of 30 obstacles. This month, MSIV Cadets and cadre from Stinger Battalion traveled across Georgia for a staff ride covering General William T. Sherman's March to the Sea campaign. On the first day, Cadets and cadre visited the Civil War sites of the Battle of Griswoldville and Fort McAllister, where MSIVs facilitated discussions on both the battles themselves and the ethics of warfare.

After a morning of PT the next day, the staff ride concluded at Andersonville National Historic Site, where park rangers guided Cadets and cadre through a tour of the former Civil War prison of Camp Sumter as well as the National Prisoner of War Museum.

Every Thursday, Stinger Battalion Cadets conduct a situational training exercise at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Ga. Weekly Leadership Labs immerse Cadets in a tactical environment, allowing them to plan and execute platoon-sized operations.
