Starting a church or ministry is not like starting a business. Although there are some things similar like incorporating with the state, obtaining an EIN for banking purposes, establishing bylaws, etc., they are not the same.
For instance, you can start a business to meet a need, fulfill a dream or make available to the public that you are good or in a educated in at doing. This could be a business that that you are skilled at doing like vcooking, baking, creating art, makng crafts, general contracting, interior design, consulting, coaching, tax preparation or any other ability or skill you have and an ideal you come up with to meet a need that you set your heart and mind to do. The list goes on and on but it still is not the same as starting a ministry or church.
The reason why is starting a church or ministry does not start with an ability or ideal. It starts with a calling not an ideal or ability. Starting a church or ministry means God has called you, affirmed you, anointed you, separated you and commissioned you, then confirm it through others. It is a call that came from heaven and not conceived in the heart or mind of man. Yes when you start a church or ministry, it is the Lord's calling and not just a business ideal. Before you start a church or ministry seek out wise counsel to make sure you are called to do so and not it being a great ideal.
"That’s why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn’t stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I’d think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!" Ephesians 1:18 [The Messege]
