Yesterday, PAD joined the West End community during Atlanta Streets Alive for a memorial service and tree planting honoring Mr. Terence “Yohan” Cobbs, a beloved neighbor whose life was tragically cut short just over four months ago.

Yohan was a familiar and cherished presence in the West End. His passing brought an extraordinary outpouring of compassion, generosity, and love from the community he called home.

It was moving to see neighbors gather to plant a tree in his memory, share stories, and celebrate the life of someone who meant so much to so many. These moments remind us that community care is about more than services and resources. It’s about showing up for one another, honoring the people who make our neighborhoods special, and making sure our neighbors are remembered.

PAD was honored to celebrate Yohan’s life and share information about the resources available to our community.

May his memory continue to bring people together. 💙🌳

PAD was proud to walk alongside our community during the Atlanta Pride Parade! From celebrating love and inclusion to showing our support for Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ community, it was a reminder that everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

A huge thank-you to our PAD Heroes who showed up and walked with us! We’re proud to be part of a community where care means embracing one another, celebrating our differences, and making space for everyone.

Pride is more than a celebration. It’s a commitment to community, connection, and care. 🏳️‍🌈

Sometimes the thing standing between someone and their next step is something as practical as a working phone or a suitcase.

PAD can help participants access material goods such as phones and phone service, suitcases, children's items, school supplies, and household essentials.

A working phone can help someone stay connected. A suitcase can make a transition easier. School supplies can help a child start the year ready to learn.

Small things can make a big difference. That's community care, too.

Join PAD as we celebrate Atlanta Pride and walk with us in the Pride Parade on October 11!

We’re looking for PAD Heroes to join our team as we show up for Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ community and celebrate pride, community, and inclusion.

🚨 LAST STOP ALERT! 🚨

Here are some highlights from our celebration marking the end of the GA Recovers Bus Tour for National Recovery Month. PAD was proud to be part of a day celebrating people living in recovery, resilience, and community. The celebration brought together community voices and resources, including:

📚 Reka Jones, author of 12 Steps Into My Destiny: A Manual for Living Through Anything and recovery advocate, who shared her story and perspective on recovery.

💙 Darrell Lewis, a PAD participant, shared his own recovery journey and talked about how PAD has supported him as he reached important milestones, including securing a new job and obtaining housing.

🧰 Georgia Overdose Prevention provided a Narcan training, giving attendees practical tools and information to help prevent overdose and support their communities.

From sharing stories to learning life-saving skills, the GA Recovers Bus Tour reminded us that recovery can look different for everyone and that connection, support, and community matter.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the final stop a meaningful one!

More tools. More confidence. More ways to respond with care.

Join PAD for an Expanded Networks of Care (ENC) Training and learn practical skills for responding to neighbors or loved ones experiencing distress.

This training explores compassionate response, de-escalation, nervous system regulation, harm reduction, and Atlanta's emergency response systems. Through discussion and scenario practice, participants will learn ways to respond to distress while supporting dignity, safety, and connection.

🏀 We may not have taken home the trophy, but this was a win for recovery. 🏀

In recognition of National Recovery Month, PAD was proud to hit the court for Rebound for Recovery, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament hosted by Fulton County Accountability Courts and the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities.

Our PAD team brought the energy, competed hard, and, most importantly, joined a community coming together to celebrate recovery, connection, and the people who make recovery possible.

The evening was filled with basketball, music, food, resources, and plenty of community spirit. Events like Rebound for Recovery remind us that recovery can be celebrated in many ways, and that connection is part of the journey.

A huge thank you to Fulton County Government for hosting such an incredible event and creating space to celebrate those in recovery and connect residents with resources and support.

The final score? Recovery wins.

💙 Recovery doesn't have to happen alone. 💙

During the World Cup, PAD expanded our service hours and created more opportunities for connection through our Peer Support Circle. Since launching, 81 peers have participated, coming together to share stories, build relationships, listen, and find support without having to arrive with a particular goal or answer.

The circle isn't about fixing, advising, or having everything figured out. It's about creating space for people to be heard, respected, and recognized as the experts in their own lives.

Because healing can look different for everyone. Sometimes support is a resource. Sometimes it's a conversation. Sometimes it's simply knowing you're not alone.

At PAD, we believe connection is part of the work.

Finding housing is only part of finding home. 🏠

PAD can provide participants with housing assistance that goes beyond finding a place to stay. Support may include rental, utility, or deposit assistance, furniture, and welcome-home essentials like cookware, dishes, cleaning supplies, and linens.

Because having a key is a beginning. Building a home takes support, too.
