“Jobs for Life has given me the ability to hit restart on my life. I really feel I have a second chance.”

Ayonia shared how participating in Jobs for Life helped her regain confidence and begin moving forward with a clear sense of direction. During the class, she was able to identify a path to address barriers related to her background and has already begun taking steps toward resolving them as she works toward a career job.

A key part of the Jobs for Life experience is connecting participants to wrap-around resources that help remove barriers to employment. This support helps open doors and create real opportunities for lasting change.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice calls us to live with gratitude, serve our communities well, and work toward a future where every person has the opportunity to thrive.

Today, and every day, we remember. 🇺🇸

When Shaneika Murphy’s sons entered middle school and high school, she wanted to make sure her family was ready for the challenges ahead. Through Raising Highly Capable Kids, she found practical parenting tools, meaningful support, and a community that encouraged her every step of the way.

Today, Shaneika is paying that support forward as an RHCK facilitator, helping other families grow stronger while inspiring her own sons to serve their community alongside her.

Read her full story ⬇️

After completing the Raising Highly Capable Kids workshop as a parent, Shaneika Murphy now supports other parents as a program facilitator. Her sons volunteer with the program, too. Together, the Murphys are a shining example of how strong families build strong communities.

At the recent JFL Lawrenceville Employer Panel, students had the opportunity to hear directly from local employers about what they value most in today’s workforce. Guests shared their perspectives, talked about the qualities they look for in employees, and took time to answer thoughtful questions from the students.

What made the conversation especially meaningful was how engaged the students were throughout the discussion. They weren’t just listening. They were thinking ahead about their futures, asking intentional questions, and learning what it takes to stand out in the workplace.

Moments like these remind us how valuable it is when professionals take the time to pour into others.
