Albany, we have several seats for you. 🍽️

We’re opening the doors to A Seat at the Table.

We want more of us at the table. Eating dinner. Breaking bread. Breaking barriers. Learning how to use our voices and work together for the changes our community deserves.

Your light bill shouldn’t have to compete with your rent or housing costs. You don’t have to be an expert to have something to say about it. We want to hear from you.

Come eat with us, see what we’re building, and find your seat at the table.

August 22 | 6–8 PM 🍽️💜

Last month’s Provider Meeting was a great success, and we were thrilled to see everyone who attended!

Childcare advocates came together to discuss important topics and concerns regarding childcare quality, provider autonomy, funding, and advocacy for the families and children they serve. Participants agreed that policy should be shaped by those most affected by these changes: the providers serving the working families, the workforce behind the workforce. The conversation highlighted an opportunity to empower providers to move beyond navigating the existing childcare system and to begin organizing for meaningful changes to the systems that affect them.

These discussions will continue in this month's meeting! We look forward to seeing you at the next Provider Meeting!

Today is EqualPayDay and we’re grateful for all of the Black women who show up in their communities to make change and we recognize the strength, power, and beauty they build in their homes, families, communities, and across the country, often doing the most with less. It's Game Day for US Soccer fans! Atlanta is buzzing with FIFA fever, and we’re excited too! However, we've noticed that our visitors are enjoying their extended vacation time here even more. Americans are discovering that many of the countries visiting us offer longer vacations, often mandated to be over a month long.

In learning about these benefits, they are also coming to understand the benefits that exist outside the US, such as universal healthcare, fair wages for workers, and more. Did you know that the US is the only developed nation with zero weeks of paid medical and family leave? Working Americans deserve more time off to spend with their families and enjoy leisure activities, like watching soccer!

Earlier this month, 9to5 Georgia, alongside Jobs with Justice, United for Respect, and Oxfam, hosted our Economic Justice Town Hall! We welcomed over 50 attendees, including community leaders, organizational partners, and impacted workers. We felt the energy in the room. Change is needed, and change is coming. There’s no doubt that building solidarity is the only way forward as we address the challenges facing workers in today’s unstable economy. Thank you to everyone who joined and participated. Solidarity forever! ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

Juneteenth is more than a day in history—it is a celebration of hope, courage, and the enduring spirit of freedom. As we honor the journey of those who fought for liberation, may we be inspired to uplift one another, pursue justice, and create a future where every voice is valued and every dream has the opportunity to flourish. Today, we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the power of progress. Here is a statement from our Executive State Director, Jasmine Bowles ❤️🖤💚
