NOTICE FROM THE ATLANTA UTILITY DEPARTMENT:
At this time, the entire wastewater system remains backed up due to the immense amount of rainfall received during the recent storm.
Unfortunately, we are currently at the mercy of the pumping capacity at our lift station. Our pumps have been operating continuously since the night of the storm in an effort to move as much wastewater as possible and restore the system to normal operating conditions.
We understand that this situation may cause frustration and concern for our residents. Please know that our Utility Department personnel have been working around the clock to address the issue and are doing everything within our ability to maximize the system’s recovery.
Once the system has sufficiently caught up, our crews will begin performing additional manhole and sewer main cleaning to help ensure the system is operating as efficiently as possible.
We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work through this situation. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
