The NCNW Greater Atlanta Social Justice & Program Community presented a Gubernatorial and Lieutenant Gubernatorial Debate as the third part of their Civic Power Series. To bring this impactful event to the community they partnered with affiliates Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. & the Metro Atlanta Chapter of the 100 Black Women along with community partners Black Girls Do Politics, Black Voters Matter, Georgia Wand, Rep GA, and Big Bethel AME Church who played the dual role of event partner and venue host.

Sisters of Greater Atlanta were on-hand to support NCNW Affiliates, Pi Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. & Atlanta Suburban Alumnae Chapter - Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. at their powerful event, "Your Vote. Your Voice. Unbought & Unbossed: "Shirley" Film Screening & Public Forum."

️The Education Committee hosted a packing party to make activity bags for the children receiving care at Children's Hospital of Atlanta Hughes Spalding location. The committee will be visiting the campus to spread love, hand out bags, and serve as guest readers during story time. ✨️✨️

President Brown hosted the inaugural NCNW Greater Atlanta Affiliates & Supporters Assembly; we were thrilled to have leadership from Sigma Gamma Rho Eta Sigma Chapter, The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary #300, the Atlanta Black Nurses Association, and the Bethune Cookman University Atlanta Chapter.

The group discussed how non-profit affiliates and supporters of NCNW could come together locally in a more formalized and collaborative way to support the needs of the Greater Atlanta Community. It was a powerful gathering and we look welcoming more of our non-profit family at our next meeting on October 31st.

Greater Atlanta's 10th anniversary celebration started with a wonderful honor, the section was presented with a Proclamation by Fulton County honoring a decade of service to the Atlanta and naming March 20, 2026 National Council of Negro Women Day in Fulton County.

The morning started with the presentation, followed by an impromptu interview, some sisterly laughs, and we met a new sister who wanted to join us in this work. 💜

Our four core initiatives are health equity, social justice, economic empowerment, and education; so as a part of 10th anniversary weekend we were thrilled to award a deserving high school senior with our first $1000 scholarship to support her education as she attends Clark Atlanta University in Fall 2026.
