We’re proud to share that Governor Brian Kemp signed Senate Bill 500 into law on May 12th! This is a step forward in accessing the supply and demand of healthcare professionals across Georgia communities.

We are grateful to Governor Kemp and the Georgia General Assembly for their collaborative support of this legislation.

SB 500, introduced by Sen. Mike Hodges, expands the existing Georgia Health Care Professionals Data System to collect non-identifying data on licensed healthcare professionals across the state.

The legislation establishes collaboration between the Georgia Board of Health Care Workforce (GBHCW) and 15 state licensing boards to collect non-identifying information related to healthcare professional demographics, geographic distribution, license types, and workforce trends. This information will help provide policymakers and the public with a clearer understanding of Georgia’s healthcare workforce landscape.
