It is with a heavy heart that we commemorate the life & legacy of our recently departed friend and longtime Missouri Republican Assembly leader Steve Lampley, who passed away on July 3, 2026.
Steve devoted many years of faithful service to the Missouri Republican Assembly, serving in numerous leadership positions, including MRA President, President of the MRA 7th Congressional District, and member of the MRA Board of Directors. He was also a longtime member of the Greene County Missouri Republican Assembly, where he faithfully supported the grassroots conservative movement for many years. Steve was a tireless advocate for constitutional government, individual liberty, and conservative principles, mentoring countless grassroots activists and strengthening the Republican Assembly movement throughout Missouri.
Beyond his service to the MRA, Steve was the longtime Treasurer of the Missouri Republican Party's 7th Congressional District, a Greene County Republican Central Committee Committeeman, and Legislative District Chair for Missouri's 131st Legislative District. He was also a familiar presence at the Missouri State Capitol, where he worked alongside legislators and fellow conservatives in support of pro-liberty legislation.
The Missouri Republican Assembly Board of Directors recently adopted the attached Resolution 2026-01 honoring Steve's life, leadership, and extraordinary record of service. I have attached a copy for your information.
On behalf of the Missouri Republican Assembly, thank you for allowing us to share this tribute. Steve's dedication to the cause of liberty, grassroots conservative activism, and the Republican Assembly movement leaves a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
