Georgia Tech Grad Student Government - Grad SGA Our mission is to empower student organizations, embody student opinions, preserve student integrity, and enrich the student experience.

Welcome to the official page for the Georgia Tech Graduate Student Government Association: where Tech grad students' voices are leveraged to make change. Graduate Student Senate meets weekly on Tuesdays at 11am in Flag Building room 117. During these sessions we hear bills asking us to allocate money from Student Activity Fund. The SGA Office is located in the Student Center. At that office, Graduate President Canellas has office hours on Mondays from 4-5pm and is willing to set up additional times as needed via email. The SGA office is mainly for official business of the SGA and its subcommittees. Our administrative assistant, Georgia Braxton, is the point of contact for free legal consultation and she is also a registered notary, and she is also a good source of knowledge about student resources and SGA if you have questions. Students are encouraged to drop-in, say hello and visit with the SGA members who congregate to work in this space.

Ever thought, "I wish I knew this on day one"?

Graduate students have unique needs that undergraduate guides just don't cover. That’s why GSGA is launching a new initiative: a centralized, searchable, and user-friendly Grad Student Resource Repository.

Whether you're a coder, designer, or just love keeping things organized (zero experience needed!), we want you on the team.

πŸ“¨ DM us with questions or email [email protected] to get involved!

We are looking for 4-5 graduate students from various disciplines and academic standings to serve as panelists at this year's Graduate Education Summit! πŸ—£οΈ

πŸŽ™οΈ The goal is to bring real student experiences directly to faculty and staff. They can learn what student life is actually like and how the graduate education ecosystem can be improved to better support you.

This year's summit theme is "Advancing the Graduate Ecosystem Through Collaboration: Embracing AI, Expanding Global Engagement, Promoting Affordability, and Increasing Accessibility." 🌍✨

Email [email protected] or DM us with questions or if you're interested.

The Graduate Events Committee is looking for a few more people to join the team ✨

We’re on the hunt for fun, organized people who can throw a good time and help our classmates take a break from work. You will organize events such as social mixers, town halls, and the annual Grad Gala.

Members need to be available to meet a few times a semester, and be hands-on and ready to help when event week rolls around.

πŸ“© Want to join or have questions? DM us or email Olivia ([email protected])

Graduate students, we wanted to let you know about a helpful campus resource available to you.

The Center for Mental Health and Resources (CMHCR) offers counseling groups that provide a safe space to share your experiences and support one another, whether you're at the beginning of your graduate school journey or writing your thesis.

You can find more details about Fall 2026 groups on the CMHCR "Groups at a Glance" web page. Call 404-894-2575 or visit Smithgall Suite 238 to schedule a 30-minute initial assessment. A professional will meet with you to help you decide whether group counseling is the right fit.

If these groups are not what you need right now, you can find support through CMHCR, STAMPS, Georgia Tech SEWB, Georgia Tech Wellness Empowerment Center, and more.

Congratulations to all of our newly elected Senators! πŸŽ‰

After the latest election cycle, 33 out of 65 seats have been filled. Senators represent their departments, bring forward concerns, and vote on policies affecting graduate students.

If you don't see your department represented, you can still be nominated to the Senate. Reach out to Julia Esposito at [email protected] to learn more about the nomination process.
