The Clifton School – Clairmont’s GA Pre-K classroom, Redwood, enjoyed an “Artful Stories” field trip to Emory University’s Michael C. Carlos Museum. Students explored the artwork of Sergio Suárez, a local Mexican American artist known for his abstract painted carvings, and read *Where Wonder Grows* by Xelena González.

Afterward, the children had the opportunity to create their own masterpieces and prints using a variety of materials, from crayons to leaves and foil. It was a wonderful day of exploring art, storytelling, and creativity!

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, The Clifton School’s Clairmont location invited a local business, Decatur Maculelê Capoeira, to teach our students about capoeira, a Brazilian martial arts dance. Students enjoyed the music, learned words in Portuguese, and got their bodies moving through this fun and engaging cultural experience.
