The 40th annual Art in the Park is this weekend!

This three-day juried fine art festival takes place each Labor Day weekend on the historic Marietta Square. Art in the Park has consistently been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society and is the only fine art festival held in Cobb County.

**City of Marietta Holiday Trash & Recycling Collection Schedule**
Please note that there will be no trash collection on Monday, September 7, 2026.

If your regular waste collection day falls on Monday, September 7, your collection will be rescheduled to Tuesday, September 8. If your regular waste collection day falls on Tuesday, September 8, your collection will be rescheduled to Wednesday, September 9.

Please be aware that yard waste service will not be available this week.

The award-winning, fan-favorite event Coffee, Campfires, and Cryptids is returning to Marietta, and it’s bringing even more mystery with it!

The City of Marietta’s Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department invites the community to gather around the campfire on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM in Atherton Square Park (4 Depot Street, Marietta, GA 30060) for an evening of Georgia legends and curious creatures.

Enjoy a cozy, autumn evening atmosphere as we dive into the strange, the storied, and the unexplained—from Bigfoot sightings in North Georgia to whispers of sea monsters off the coast near Savannah. Guests are invited to bring their curiosity, their best tall tales, and their favorite warm drink as we explore local folklore, share stories, and celebrate the mysterious side of Georgia’s history.

This free, family-friendly event encourages attendees to bring camp chairs and a sense of adventure.

Our community came together this morning for the Kiwanis Club of Marietta (GA) Field of Flags, carrying 2,977 American flags in honor of each life lost on September 11, 2001.

The Field of Flags at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park stands as a tribute leading up to September 11, when the community will gather again for the reading of the names and a ceremony of remembrance.
