🇫🇷🇺🇸 A look back at our Consul General’s first visit to North Carolina!

Consul General Matthieu Clouvel Gervaiseau was honored to welcome Anne Le Hénanff, France’s Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Affairs, to Chapel Hill for the G20 Innovation Ministerial.

🇺🇸 Welcome to the new Consul General of France in Atlanta, Matthieu Clouvel Gervaiseau!

Après quatre années passées en Israël, en tant que Consul général de France à Tel-Aviv 🇮🇱, Matthieu Clouvel Gervaiseau entame un nouveau chapitre à Atlanta. Diplomate de carrière et juriste, il a notamment servi à Calcutta 🇮🇳, Copenhague 🇩🇰, Houston 🇺🇸, Bruxelles 🇧🇪, Los Angeles 🇺🇸 et Paris 🇫🇷.

Matthieu est particulièrement heureux de revenir aux Etats-Unis et se réjouit de contribuer au renforcement des liens entre la France et le Sud-Est américain, tout en veillant à offrir le meilleur service public à nos ressortissants.

Il sillonnera notre circonscription consulaire — l’Alabama, la Géorgie, la Caroline du Nord, la Caroline du Sud, le Mississippi et le Tennessee — pour aller à la rencontre de la communauté française et de nos nombreux partenaires.

Qu’ils soient diplomatiques, économiques, académiques ou encore culturels, Matthieu Clouvel Gervaiseau souhaite approfondir et renforcer les nombreux liens qui rapprochent la France et le Sud-Est des États-Unis.

Last night, Consul General Anne-Laure Desjonquères gathered with colleagues, friends, and partners to mark the end of her four-year mandate in Atlanta. As she prepares to begin a new chapter in the Netherlands, she shared a few words of gratitude and farewell.

🇫🇷🇺🇸 ´After four memorable years, my mandate as Consul General of France in Atlanta comes to an end.

Serving France across the Southeast of the United States has been an immense honor and privilege. I am deeply proud of all that we have accomplished together with my team and our consulate’s many partners.

I wish my successor, Matthieu Clouvel Gervaiseau, every success in his new role. I know that he and his wife, Stephanie, will receive the warmest Southern welcome in Atlanta and throughout the Southeast.

As I begin a new chapter at the Embassy of France in the Netherlands, I leave Atlanta with a heart full of gratitude and countless wonderful memories - including the generosity, warmth, and hospitality that made this region feel like home.

🇫🇷 France made its debut at the Cobb International Festival!

We were thrilled to join more than 20 consulates in celebrating the many cultures represented in Cobb County.

Alongside our friends at Alliance Française Atlanta, we loved welcoming visitors to our booth and sharing a taste of French culture — from language and cultural programs to delicious French treats. 🇫🇷

A special thank-you to A Cacao Affair and Bonnin’s Bakery, two Cobb County French businesses, for helping make our participation extra special!

Goodbye… and thank you, Myriam! 🇫🇷

Today, we bid farewell to our colleague and Vice Consul, Myriam Costis, as she begins a new chapter at the Embassy of France in Monaco.

We are deeply grateful for Myriam’s outstanding work and dedication during her time in Atlanta — and for the lasting impact she leaves on our consular services and our community.

Thanks to her leadership, appointments are now available within 7 days, and passports are delivered in less than two weeks. Myriam also helped oversee major developments, including the launch of the hotline France Consulaire, and organized three elections during her time in Atlanta.

Beyond these achievements, Myriam will be remembered for her warm presence within our team. We will miss her dearly!

Dear Myriam, thank you for everything! All of us at the Consulate General of France in Atlanta wish you every success and happiness in this exciting new chapter in Monaco. 🇫🇷✨

The D-Day Landing Beaches are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site 🇫🇷🌍

For the past four years, we’ve had the privilege of sharing the return of American WWII veterans to Normandy. Today’s inscription recognizes not only the historical significance of the D-Day Landing Beaches, but also their enduring message of peace, freedom, and remembrance for generations to come.

Together with the Royal Fortresses of Languedoc, the D-Day Landing Beaches are the latest additions to France’s 56 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
