"I was scared to death."
That's how she described walking into a shelter for the first time. She'd been a driver for over a decade — school buses, hospital runs, university routes. Someone who showed up every day.
Then a relationship turned dangerous, she had a young child, and the safe place she thought she had was gone.
What she found at Rebecca's Tent wasn't what she feared. Women going through their own versions of the same impossible year. A counselor who told her something that stayed:
"I cannot want more for you than you do. We're here to help, but the work has to be done by you."
She's a bus operator now. Her own apartment. Still moving forward. Support our mission by joining us on June 11: https://tinyurl.com/rebeccas-tent
