Book lovers, mark your calendars!

Get your bookmarks ready. The Cobb County Public Library Fall Book Sale returns Oct. 16 - 18 at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta, offering a variety of books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, and puzzles at prices ranging from just 10 cents to $4. Hours will be 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, then 1 - 5 p.m. Sunday.

To speed up checkout lines, shorten wait times, and ensure fair access to high-demand items, on Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.:
📓 Shoppers may check out up to 20 items per transaction
📖 Each family member may check out up to 20 items each provided they can carry their items
🔖 Shoppers are welcome to return to the sales floor and check out 20 items as many times as they like
📀 Storing, stashing, or holding items is prohibited (all three days)
🧩 Limits on high-demand items will be enforced: one puzzle, graphic novel, manga and two comic books or vinyl LPs

Sharing driver safety information via the Kennesaw Police Department, with thanks for the resource for self-assessment!

: Do you know someone who is aging and may no longer be safe to drive? Have you had the courage to discuss this with them?

With increasing age come changes in physical, mental, and sensory abilities that can challenge a person's continued ability to drive safely. One of the first steps in addressing older driver safety is having a nonthreatening conversation.

Family and friends play a major role in discussions about older driver safety. There are options available to help keep the skills needed to be an independent driver. If that is no longer a safe option, discuss transportation options with them. They may feel they will not be able to go anywhere if they can no longer drive, and may not be aware of how to stay active in their communities without driving.

If you believe they are an unsafe driver who poses a risk to themselves or others, you can use the DDS Form 270. This form can be used by law enforcement, concerned community members, or others to initiate the medical revocation process. The driver MUST work with DDS to prove they are still capable of driving safely. Link to more information and the form can be found here:
