I applaud the Technical College System of Georgia State Board’s approval of a $1.5 million grant to establish the new Dodge County College & Career Academy.
I’m grateful to Rep. Danny Mathis for his partnership in helping make this investment possible, and I also want to recognize former Dodge County School Superintendent Dr. Susan Long for her efforts. This is great news for Dodge County and, most importantly, for the young people throughout our community who will benefit from these new educational and career opportunities.

Last week, I enjoyed attending the Georgia Chamber of Commerce annual Congressional Luncheon in Athens. The event brought together regional chambers of commerce and business leaders from across the state to hear directly from Georgia’s gubernatorial and congressional candidates about their visions for our state’s future.

We also had the opportunity to hear Governor Kemp reflect on his time in office and share his thoughts on what it will take to build on our states success and keep Georgia moving forward. I am always grateful for the work the Georgia Chamber does on behalf of business and communities across our state.

I always appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from our farmers and learn more about the issues affecting their farms and Georgia’s number one industry. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking with Georgia Farm Bureau members at their County Voices, Capitol Choices event at Arena Acres in Houston County.
Thank you to President Tom McCall for his leadership and to the entire Georgia Farm Bureau team for their continued partnership in supporting agriculture and advocating for farming communities across our state.

This week, I was honored to take part in the ribbon cutting for the State Office of Rural Health’s new office in Cordele. After 25 years at its previous location, this new home will allow the office’s dedicated staff to continue serving rural communities across Georgia.
Access to quality healthcare is essential to the strength and well-being of our rural communities, and I’m grateful for the important work this team does every day. I’m grateful to Commissioner Burke and Executive Director Nita Ham for the opportunity to be part of this special milestone.

It was great to be with Legislative Leaders from across the Country at the National Conference of State Legislators this week.

I was honored to participate in the passing of the gavel ceremony with my friend and colleague Representative Beth Camp. Together we announced that Georgia will be the host state for the 2027 NCSL Summit

I look forward to welcoming legislators and leaders from across the country to showcase all that Georgia has to offer.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Georgia Forestry Association's Annual Conference on Jekyll Island, where I had the opportunity to hear directly from foresters, landowners, and industry leaders about the opportunities and challenges facing one of Georgia's most important industries.

I was honored to join Speaker Jon Burns and Chairman Jesse Petrea for a legislative panel to discuss our work on HB 134, the Keep Georgia Forested Act, and the steps we're taking to strengthen Georgia's forestry industry, support jobs, and encourage continued investment across our state.

Georgia’s forestry industry plays a vital role in our economy, and I appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from those who work every day to keep this industry strong. Thank you to the Georgia Forestry Association for hosting another outstanding conference, and for your continued commitment to Georgia's forestry community.

No Georgian should be taxed out of the home they worked so hard to own.

Sen. Larry Walker is right: out-of-control property taxes are squeezing Georgia families and putting the American Dream out of reach. Senate Republicans passed legislation to put property tax relief on the ballot this November — and Democrats voted NO.

We'll keep fighting for real relief that protects homeowners and strengthens our communities. Georgia families deserve certainty.
