This evening, AB Rescue responded to Island Park for a fire at Jordans Lobster Farms - L.I. . Ambulance 3691 with an Advanced Life Support crew & our Drone team operated.

Ambulance and Drone team mutual aid to LBFD commercial fire. Rehab of firefighters is crucial in these temperatures to prevent heat exhaustion.

At 12:37 pm the Long Beach Fire Department received a report of a Building Fire at the Bungalow on E. Park Ave., upon arrival units encountered a smoke condition on the main floor, further investigation found a fire in the basement of the building.

Three hose lines were stretched into the building, the fire was quickly knocked down, but a heavy smoke condition lingered, multiple fans were used to vent the building.

The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes, there were no injuries to any firefighters or civilians.

The fire was not suspicious and is under the investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal - County of Nassau and the Nassau County Police Department Arson/Bomb squad.

All operations were under the Command of Assistant Chief Hadrick Ray.

We were assisted at the scene or standing by for other Alarms by the Point Lookout Lido FD, Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department, Inwood Fire Department, Oceanside NY Fire Department, Woodmere Vol. Fire Department, Baldwin Fire Department, Freeport Fire Department, East Rockaway Fire Department and Atlantic Beach Rescue.

We would like to thank Lido Kosher Deli for donating water for our Firefighters at the scene.

❗⚠️Severe Thunderstorm Warning⚠️❗

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Western Nassau County until 8:30pm. A line of severe thunderstorms is headed towards Valley Stream/Mineola area around 7:55pm, Garden City/Lynbrook area around 8:00pm, Freeport and Long Beach area around 8:05pm.

Wind gusts of up to 60mph and penny size hail are possible, along with lightning, thunder and heavy downpours.

A few severe thunderstorms are possible from mid to late afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. The primary risk is for damaging winds, though some large hail might also occur with the strongest storms.
