🚨 HEALTH ALERT: MOSQUITO ACTIVITY

The City of Atlantic City Health Department has received preliminary information indicating that several mosquitoes in the Chelsea neighborhood have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

The City has followed all appropriate public health protocols and remains in close communication with Atlantic County and State health officials.

MOSQUITO SPRAYING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4

Weather permitting, the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control will conduct ground spraying in parts of Atlantic City from 4:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. The treatment will include areas bounded by North Harrisburg Avenue, Wi******er Avenue, North Montgomery Avenue, South Montgomery Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, South Trenton Avenue and Ventnor Avenue.

The spraying is intended to reduce adult mosquito populations. According to the EPA, residents do not need to relocate or take special precautions during mosquito control spraying.

📞 For health information about the pesticides being applied, contact the Atlantic County Office of Mosquito Control at 609-645-5948.

All Atlantic City residents are encouraged to take simple steps to reduce mosquito exposure, including:

• Use insect repellent when outdoors
• Wear long sleeves and pants when practical
• Remove standing water around your property
• Keep doors and windows properly screened
