Ian Silakowski was a previous beneficiary of the Atlantic Highlands PBA Ball. Please take a look at the below message from the Silakowski family and the attached GoFundMe.

“The Silakowski family needs help raising funds to cover the cost of much needed medical equipment.
It has been 9 years since Ian has suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury which left him a quadriplegic.
Part of his daily home therapy to avoid muscle atrophy is using a specialized exercize bike. His current bike, kindly donated by a local family, is now breaking down and can no longer provide its therapeutic benefits. The daily use of the bike supports range of motion, prevents skin break down and muscle atrophy and boosts psychological well being. Medical insurance refuses to cover the cost which leaves us responsible for the total cost of the equipment. At this time we are kindly asking for donations as the deadline to purchase at the current discounted price is May 1, 2024. All funds will go directly to the cost of the exercize bike.”

The AHPBA is happy to announce that we will be having our annual Christmas movie this year!

We will be showing the movie “The Grinch” on Saturday, December 2nd at 09:30 am at Smodcastle Cinemas. The movie is being shown free of charge. We only ask that you bring a non-perishable food item with you to donate to the local food bank.

It is that time of year again when our local partakes in No Shave November. The officers will be growing their beards in an effort to raise awareness for cancer patients. This year, our department is raising money for Mary’s Place by the Sea, a Monmouth County local charity. We welcome any and all donations! Please feel free to stop in or call to speak with a PBA representative about how to donate. We want to thank you for your continued support of local 242.

The warming center is open at the Senior Citizen’s building located in the Municipal Harbor. The PBA has donated coffee and donuts. If your out of power and want to warm up for a bit, stop on down.

In honor of her late husband Eddie Brennan, Nora Brennan will be having a free showing of A Christmas Story at Smodcastle Cinemas on December 17th at 1pm.

Mr. Brennan was an Honorary Life Member of our PBA and a dear friend.
