The AH Strong Mayor and Council Candidates are so disappointed to note that all three democrat candidates have declined to participate in a debate.

There seems to be a lot of back and forth about a debate that all candidates in this year's Mayor and Council race were invited to participate in.

The truth about what happened is, like in past we were asked to participate in a virtual debate that was run by an organization that isn't involved in or familiar with our local community.

Without ever saying yes, the Republican candidates respectfully declined the invitation and replied to our opposing Democratic candidates with an in person option for the debate.

The opportunity to express where each candidate stands and provide transparent answers to our residents is a welcomed idea. One we were excited about.

Unfortunately, this on-line debate has become more of a political football being used to create more divisiveness in our home town. Something your Republican candidates are STRONGLY against.

We offered the following parameters that were rejected by our opponents.

Here is the proposal:
1-In-person debate plus zoom.
2-Local resident moderators (each side pick one) who have served in an official capacity within our local town government.

This proposal seemed fair to us, but please feel free to let us know what you think.

For the record if the Democratic candidates are open to an in- person debate, based on questions about our local community, moderated by someone fair and unbiased, we are in... any time, any place.

Otherwise, we will continue moving forward towards election day, meeting and greeting our neighbors and offering our ideas and intensions for protecting, preserving and enhancing the "small home town" we ALL love so much.

As always , we are happy and proud to respond to all questions from our residents that are local in nature to our town.
