This evening, members celebrated national EMS week.

Our EMS division has came a long way in the past 3 years. Beginning in October of 2023, Fallowfield Fire & Rescue began providing basic life support ambulance services. Since then, we have added a second ambulance, upgraded our level of care to Intermediate-Advanced Life Support, and we also now have our own training institute where we can offer classes like CPR, First Aid, Emergency Vehicle Driver Training, Emergency Medical Responder, and a wide array of continuing education classes for EMS Personnel.

Our personnel roster is over 20 members strong. We currently have 8 members enrolled in EMT class, and more beginning Advanced EMT and Paramedic training in the fall.

We’re just getting warmed up here at Fallowfield Fire & Rescue. More changes are coming in the near future as we continue to continue to grow to meet the needs of our community and ever increasing call volume.

Are your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms UL Listed?

Recently, we have seen many homes with non approved smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Many such alarms are available at online retailers such as Amazon and Ebay, but they may not be providing you and your family the protection that they are advertising.

Any smoke or CO alarm you purchase should have the UL “Stamp of approval”

This indicates that this alarm has been independently tested and approved by a 3rd party nationally recognized laboratory.

Some alarms without this marking do not even have gas detection, and only offer the appearance of a legitimate alarm. Not only can this put you and your family in danger, they can also be prone to false alarms.
