This past Saturday, members of the Atoka Fire Department were honored to participate in the Mid-South stop of the National EMS Memorial as it traveled through our region. Truck 11 proudly stood alongside our public safety partners in tribute to the EMS professionals who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

We joined fellow firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and our partners from Hospital Wing/AirEvac Global Medical Response to honor the 37 EMS providers whose names are being remembered on this year's memorial journey.

The dedication and sacrifice of EMS professionals often happen behind the scenes, but their impact is felt every day by the lives they touch and the communities they serve. We are grateful for the opportunity to pay our respects and stand in support of the families of the fallen and all those who continue answering the call to serve their neighbors.

Please continue to keep the families of these heroes, and all first responders, in your thoughts and prayers.

Adaptive Sports wrapped up its first-ever soccer season on Saturday, and the Atoka Fire Department was honored to help celebrate. After a season full of smiles, new friendships, and plenty of soccer fun, players got to cool off with water sprayed from the firetruck. ⚽💦

We love seeing programs like Adaptive Sports bring our community together and provide opportunities for athletes of all abilities to get involved, stay active, and have fun. Congratulations on a successful first season, and we look forward to cheering you on next year!

We are proud to train alongside our neighboring departments as we continue building the relationships, knowledge, and teamwork that make our region stronger. Opportunities like this allow us to learn from one another and ensure we are ready to respond when our communities need us most. Thank you to Munford Fire Department for hosting this valuable training.

Today, Munford Fire personnel participated in HazMat Technology Awareness training. The course will continue over the next two days to ensure all shifts receive the training.

We were also glad to train alongside our partners from Atoka Fire Department, Brighton Fire Department, and Tipton County Fire Department. Training together helps strengthen our regional response capabilities and better prepares us to serve our communities.

Congratulations to Firefighter Phillip Bingham on being recognized as the Exchange Club of Tipton County's Firefighter of the Year!

Bingham's commitment to the fire service extends far beyond responding to calls. His dedication to training, caring for others, and serving the community embodies what it means to be an Atoka firefighter.

This recognition reflects the hard work, professionalism, and positive attitude he brings to the department. We are proud to have him as part of the AFD family and grateful for the impact he makes on our team and our community.

We would like to thank the Exchange Club of Tipton County for their continued support of public safety and for recognizing the outstanding work of first responders throughout our community. It is always an honor to see the dedication and service of these individuals acknowledged.

We've had a few questions about how to read and understand the monthly call reports posted by the Atoka Fire Department, so we wanted to make it a little easier!

The map shown below helps explain the areas served by the Atoka Fire Department and how incidents are categorized in our monthly reports. The Town is divided into two response districts: Station 1 (City West) and Station 2 (City East). The map also highlights the area of unincorporated Tipton County assigned to AFD for fire and emergency response.

When reviewing monthly reports, this map can help provide context for where calls occur and how emergency responses are distributed throughout our service area.

We hope this makes the reports easier to understand and gives you a better picture of the area our firefighters serve every day.

🚒📚 Trucktacular was a success! 🚚✨

Today, the Atoka Fire Department had a great time participating in the 2nd Annual Trucktacular presented by the Munford Memorial Library! Families had the chance to get up close with Truck 11, meet our firefighters, explore emergency equipment, and learn more about what we do to serve our community.

There’s nothing better than seeing kids’ faces light up when they climb aboard a fire truck and sound the siren! Thank you to everyone who came out to make this event such a fun day.

We loved being part of it and look forward to seeing everyone again next year! ❤️🚒
