Coal; Atoka

At 606 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles south of Wardville to near Stringtown.
Movement was west at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 30 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Atoka, Stringtown, Atoka Reservoir, and Chockie.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

If on or near Lake Atoka, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

For Sundays Heat Advisory, from noon to 7 PM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Update: Subject has been found safe.

Missing person on E Greasy Bend Rd. around the Fugate Lake area. Terry Hensley, 65 year old white male, wearing a white t-shirt,blue jeans and a ball cap. Terry has been missing since approximately 4pm Thursday afternoon. There is a search and rescue being conducted. If seen please call 911 or the Atoka County Sheriff’s office at 580-889-2221.
