🌳 Attica Park Board – Community Update 🌳
The Attica Park Board has been busy working on improvements throughout our parks, trails, and recreational areas! We are excited to share some of the projects that have recently been completed, are currently underway, and are coming soon.
🛝 Park Safety & Improvements
All of Attica’s parks are receiving safety upgrades to help bring our playgrounds into compliance with current safety guidelines. New borders with mulch are being installed around playground equipment throughout the parks.
Our older playground equipment has also been repainted and refreshed. We greatly appreciate all of the community volunteers who have donated their time to help make these improvements possible!
🌱 Ravine Park
A brand-new “Toddler Park” has been added at Ravine Park, located near the raised garden beds. This gives our youngest residents a dedicated space to play and enjoy the park.
The community has also voted to officially name the park Harold Long Memorial Park, honoring Harold Long and his connection to our community.
🛝 Circle Park
Circle Park has received several upgrades, including the installation of the old Attica Elementary School playground, which was generously donated to the community.
We are excited to see this playground continue to provide enjoyment for Attica families for years to come!
⛳ Disc Golf Course
The Disc Golf Course has received new signage throughout the course, making it easier for players to navigate and enjoy the course.
🏞️ Ouabache Playground – Ward Memorial Park
The Park Board is excited to move forward with major improvements to Ouabache Playground, which will be named The Ward Memorial Park.
The project has been funded through a $48,890 Community Foundation grant, allowing us to make significant improvements to this recreational area.
Current project timeline:
* Concrete sidewalk, trash can pads, memorial bench pad, and pavilion pad — scheduled to be poured in the fall.
* Memorial bench, playground sign, and Community Foundation signs to be installed.
* ADA-accessible parking lot — to be installed by the City in September
* ADA parking signage and pavement lines — to be completed by the Park Board
* Landscaping — planned for November
* Vendors are currently being contacted for various supplies needed for the project
🛶 Floating Dock Project
We have also secured funding for a floating dock project, which will be funded entirely through a BlueWay Grant.
The dock is expected to be installed around Heritage Days, adding another recreational opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy our waterways.
🌊 Wabash Overlook
The Wabash Overlook has been refurbished, and a new stone path is being installed to improve the area and make it a more enjoyable place for the community to visit.
This project is being funded through the Warren County Community Foundation- BlueWay Grant
🚶 Dry Days Trail
BlueWay has also approved a $22,000+ grant for the refurbishment of the Dry Days Trail.
This funding will allow us to continue improving our trail system and provide residents with better opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
⸻
The Park Board is grateful for the community support, volunteers, organizations, grant opportunities, and local partnerships that are helping make these improvements possible.
There is still a lot of work ahead, but we are excited about the direction our parks and recreational spaces are heading. We look forward to continuing to improve these spaces for our children, families, residents, and visitors to enjoy for years to come! Stay tuned for future projects: we have a lot more exciting updates coming to Attica ! 🌳💚
Thank you to everyone who has helped make these projects possible!
