We would like to take the time to thank Nancy in our City Clerk's Office for over 22 years of service to our community as she retires on May 20th. Her experience in the office during this time has been extremely valuable and she will certainly be missed! If you are out and about on Wednesday the 20th, please stop by and wish her well and thanks for all she has done!

Thank you Nancy! Mayor Larry Grant

I would like to thank everyone involved in a very busy and successful first City cleanup of 2026 including, but not limited to our city crews, and Mikki from our Clerks Office. Once again, our Attica High School football team came through for those not able to get items to the drop site! Thank you for your community service! We will let everyone know once dates are set for the next event,

On another note: I would like to let everyone know that a company named White Oak has registered at the Clerk's Office to solicit door to door in the City through the end of this week ( 5/8 ).

Best, Mayor Larry Grant

REMINDER: It's the time of year again for Attica City Spring Cleanup! The first cleanup event of 2026 will take place on Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd. The event will once again take place at the Attica Sewage Plant on West Monroe Street from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM each day. Electronics and scrap metal bins will once again be available and tires, paint and batteries are not allowed. Appliances that contain refrigerant must have a tag from a certified company showing that the refrigerant has been removed. Please note that there is no curbside pickup, so do not place items at the curb.

The Mainstreet organization will be sponsoring document shredding on Saturday May 2nd in the parking area downtown!

This event is for residential Attica water and trash customers only and a current water bill and photo ID must be shown before entry.

We have been informed that the 900 block of South Perry Street will be restricted to one lane today due to a gas main installation in the area. Please use caution and slow down when traveling through that area.

Street repairs/paving for 2026 are scheduled to begin in mid to late June and will be coordinated with the Centerpoint gas line replacements and Joink Fiber installations as to avoid potential conflicts. The streets to be repaved in 2026 are as follows:

1: Perry Street from Washington to US-41
2: Perry Street from 65' North of Mill Street to Yount Street.
3: Summit Street from Hollovy Street to Avenue 8.
4: McDonald Street from Maple Street to Lithia Street.
5: 3rd Street from Main Street to Yount Street.
6: Cedar Street from Fountain Street to Maple Street.

Since these projects will require temporary street closures and parking restrictions, we will place signage at the locations prior to the work being started and I will publish a more detailed schedule on social. media and through our AtticaConnect phone application.
We are currently working with our engineering company to develop a list of streets for 2027, so please feel free to stop by the office with suggestions!

Regards,

Larry Grant
