Heat Advisory in Effect for Seneca County

A Heat Advisory is now in effect for Seneca County from noon Tuesday through 8:00 PM Thursday. While air temperatures will be in the 90s, the heat index is expected to climb well over 100 degrees and could reach around 105 degrees during the afternoon. These conditions can become dangerous quickly, especially for anyone working outdoors, participating in sports, or spending extended time outside.

Please take a few extra precautions over the next several days. Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks if you’re outside, and try to avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day whenever possible. Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes, and don’t forget to check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone who may not have access to air conditioning.

🇺🇲🇺🇲The Attica Memorial Day parade, program, and events schedule for Monday, May 25th: 🇺🇲🇺🇲
🇺🇲Parade line-up at 9:30am at Veterans Memorial
🇺🇲Parade begins at 10am and proceeds to Attica Fairgrounds.
🇺🇲Program at the Attica Fairgrounds featuring Chief Deputy David Ditz from the Huron County Sheriff's office, as the speaker. The Grand Marshall is local US Army veteran and Legion member George B. Nagel, Jr.
🇺🇲Parade will proceed to AVR cemetery for the Rifle salute and TAPS.
🇺🇲Omar Cemetery Memorial Service at 2pm Omar Chapel.
Guest speaker will be Marcus Collins, a Monroeville native and Vietnam War hero who was recently inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame.
🇺🇲Taps across America at the Attica Veterans Memorial at 3pm.

🇺🇲🇺🇲Sunday, May 24th, Union Pisquah Cemetery: laying of wreath and flowers, Riffle Salute, and TAPS at 11am 🇺🇲🇺🇲

The Legion Family would like to remind everyone to display your United States flags at half-staff until noon on Memorial Day. If your flag is tattered, faded or shredded please take it down. The Legion will accept unusable flags and hold a disposal ceremony in the fall, additionally, you can purchase a new flag from any Legion member.

🌳A lot of work going into the parks! We are working on landscaping the new Village signs, we planted 16 flowering trees along the fence line at Myers Park and progress is being made at the Legion Park in preparation for the new T-ball fields! Be on the lookout for all the hard work being put in at both parks ♥️ Thank you to everyone helping make this all happen!
