The first year of having fourth-graders join the fifth-graders on the Division I Odyssey team was a huge success! After taking 1st at Regionals in March, they took 5th out of 19 schools in their division at States in Syracuse over the weekend. This is a huge accomplishment, especially for such a young group! I am truly proud of them.

With this year under their belts, the (4) fourth-graders moving up to the middle school next year will make for a first time ever experienced DI team from Attica. I can't wait to see what they do!

The three fifth-grade members of the team will be moving up to Division II, so we will need three students who are going into fifth next year to fill the team. If you have a creative kiddo going into fifth-grade, be sure to sign them up in September or message me to reserve a spot!

Thank you to the fantastic group of parents, who made sure that students kept practicing their lines, picked up materials for costumes and props, and who made the trip to Syracuse to support the team. We couldn't have done it without you! Thank you!

Join me in congratulating this talented group of students who took first place at the Odyssey of the Mind Regional Competition this past Saturday in Mt. Morris and will be advancing to the NYS competition in Syracuse on April 5th.

Not only was this the first experience with Odyssey for all of these students, it was also the first year of inviting elementary students to join the 5th graders on the Division 1 team.

They are a very creative, resourceful group who worked very well together. I could always count on them to follow through on what they said they would do, without a reminder. They often took the initiative to make things on their own time and surprised me with what they had done at home. This is super impressive for such a young group! I can't wait to see what they do next weekend!

Shout out to the Division 2 team, who also competed last weekend and took third. It was a huge letdown for them after their trip to the World Finals last year. Although they worked hard and did a fantastic job, they were among the youngest in their new division this year and had tough competition. They are looking forward to a comeback next year and with their talent and a little dedication, they just might find themselves back in Iowa.

Best of luck to Division 1 on April 5th. Let's make our way to World's!
