Today we said a bittersweet goodbye to our Adult Services Librarian, Ariel.

After five wonderful years at the library, Ariel is moving on to a new chapter and returning to nursing. While we are certainly going to miss having her here every day, we are so happy for her and excited for what’s ahead!

Ariel has brought so much to SEPL over the years including compassion, dedication, and laughter. She has made a lasting impact on our patrons, our programs, and our library, but even more importantly, she has become a treasured friend and part of our library family.

We celebrated her today with a little staff send-off, some good food from Smittys Pizza Co., cheesecake (à la Golden Girls), and one last staff photo with Ariel in it.

Thank you, Ariel, for five incredible years of hard work, friendship, and memories. SEPL is better because you were here, and you will be missed more than you know. We wish you all the best as you begin this next chapter. You deserve every good thing coming your way!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us tonight for our Sea Glass Craft program at the library! It was wonderful to see so many creative designs and to spend the evening crafting together.

Tonight's program wraps up our summer adult activities, and we are so grateful for everyone who participated in our events throughout the season. Your enthusiasm and support help make these programs such a success!

Be sure to keep an eye on our page and website—the fall schedule will be coming soon, and we have more exciting programs and events planned. We can't wait to see you again this fall!

🗓️Saturday, August 1st is the last day to turn in your Summer Reading Book BINGO cards!

🏆If you've been working on your BINGO card all summer, now is the time to get those final squares completed and turn your card in for your chance to win prizes!

📞Winners will be notified by phone Monday, August 3rd.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have made a few changes to our SEPL Community Time Capsule project. The sealing ceremony scheduled for next Wednesday, August 5 has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Rather than holding a public sealing ceremony, we'll be sharing a special video on social media highlighting many of the wonderful submissions we've received and giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the time capsule before it is sealed. We're excited to showcase the stories, memories, and pieces of our community that will be preserved for future generations.

There's more good news! We've decided to extend the opportunity to contribute through the end of the year. If you've been meaning to participate but haven't had the chance, there's still plenty of time to add your piece of Attica, Republic, or the surrounding Seneca East community to this lasting community project in honor of America250.

We're looking for letters to the future, photographs, drawings, local event programs, memories, and other small items that help tell the story of life in our community today. Whether you're an individual, family, business, school, church, club, or organization, we'd love to include your contribution.

Thank you to everyone who has already participated and helped us begin preserving our community's story. We look forward to sharing the video with you soon, and we can't wait to see what additional stories are added to the time capsule over the coming months.
