Local 848 extends its profound condolences and sent a delegation to attend the funeral of Bobby 'BK' Kilduff Jr yesterday. We were privileged to provide honor guard services during the ceremony. Several photographs shared by attendees have highlighted the importance and enduring legacy of BK.

May BK rest in peace, and we offer our gratitude for his invaluable contributions to the firefighting community throughout the Commonwealth and IAFF. ⚫️🔴⚫️

During this historic blizzard, we witnessed the very best of what makes our fire service and our community so strong.

On behalf of President Greg Nunes & the members of Local 848, we want to sincerely thank Chief Lachance for his leadership, his steady presence, and his kind words recognizing the work our members performed under extreme conditions. That support means a great deal to the men and women on the line.

We also want to thank our community for your patience, understanding, and unwavering support. Severe weather brings real challenges, but your cooperation allowed us to do our jobs safely and effectively.

MOST importantly, we are incredibly proud of our members. Through long hours, dangerous travel, and relentless conditions, they showed selfless dedication and professionalism at every single turn. They answered every call without hesitation — because that’s what we do.

It truly is the best job in the world.

Thank you very much to the Attleboro Highway & Water Depts. for clearing the front aprons at Briggs Corner & HQ, as well as dropping everything to come get our trucks out of compromising positions throughout the blizzard. If not for them there’s no way our members would have been able to answer all the calls for service!
