Black Indigenous People of Color or BIPOC face higher rates of domestic abuse. 45% of black women, 48% of indigenous women, and 34.4% of Latina women will experience some sort of abuse. Abuse disproportionately affects women in the BIPOC community. Despite the higher rates of abuse, BIPOC women are less likely to seek help due to barriers and fear of discrimination.
All survivors, regardless of race or ethnicity, deserve to have their stories heard. Here at New Hope, we welcome all survivors and provide the help that they need. If you or anyone you love is experiencing some sort of abuse, you can reach us at our 24/7 hotline at 800-323-HOPE (4673).
