The Attleboro District Court is mandated to have an accessible map of the wheelchair route from outside to the courtrooms. That is an ADA requirement. The fire egress at this court has not yet been made public. The state and Bristol County regulates this accessible route and public safety at the courthouse.

521 CMR 20.00 regulates accessible routes. An accessible route shall provide a continuous unobstructed path connecting accessible spaces and elements inside and outside a facility. An ADA civil rights violations lawsuit was brought against members of the Attleboro City Council for disability discrimination. Although there was no remedy, the issues of training and discrimination based on disability by government officials needs to be open and discussed.

ATTLEBORO — A lawsuit brought against the city council by a former Attleboro man alleging a civil rights violation under the American Disabilities Act has been dismissed.

HIRING: Town of Cumberland RI has an immediate opening for an ADA Coordinator Title II (American with Disabilities Act.). Prefer certification as ADA Coordinator. Duties include preparing an ADA Transition plan, investigating and implementing access to assure Title II compliance in all programs, events and facilities in Cumberland.
