Proud to work alongside the members of this incredible group!

We’re proud to recognize the organizations that make up Advocates for Autism of Massachusetts (AFAM) and the important work they do across the state.

AFAM brings together a diverse network of organizations, advocates, and community leaders with a shared commitment to advancing opportunities, services, and rights for people with autism and their families.

Each member organization brings its own expertise, perspective, and connection to the community. By working together, we can build a stronger collective voice and advocate for meaningful change that improves the lives of individuals with autism and supports greater opportunity, inclusion, and independence.

As we begin this next chapter together, we’re excited to formally recognize and celebrate the AFAM member organizations that make this network strong.

Learn more about AFAM, meet our member organizations, and explore our work together at thearcofmass.org/afam

Our group had an incredible day out at the Connecticut Sun vs. Chicago Sky WNBA game on June 22nd! 🏀☀️

We rode down in style on a BuzzBus and watched the game from our suite, where we enjoyed plenty of food and cheered on the Sun! We also had the chance to meet Blaze, the Connecticut Sun mascot, and some of the cheerleaders. One of our participants caught a t-shirt thrown into the crowd, and then the Connecticut Sun provided a t-shirt for everyone in our group!

It was a fun day of basketball, good food, and spending time with the community. Thanks to Connecticut Sun and everyone who helped make this outing possible!

Go Sun! ☀️🏀

People are surprised by Taylor’s life, but they shouldn’t be. Taylor has a full-time job, two graduate degrees, her own home, and gives back to her community. She also has a disability. Too often, assumptions are made about what people with disabilities can or can’t do. But when people with disabilities have real opportunities, support, and inclusion, our communities are stronger. That’s why this year’s Disability Pride Month theme, “The World Works Better With Us,” matters. Because people with disabilities are a vital part of every community.

Kyle shares what Disability Pride Month means to him: "People with disabilities are just like you. We want a job, we want a family, we want a purpose in life." That’s why this year’s theme, “The World Works Better With Us,” is so important. Because a better world includes all of us.

“I don't want to just live in society. I want to thrive in it.”
This Disability Pride Month, we’re celebrating the goals, dreams, and paths people with disabilities choose for themselves. Too often, expectations are placed on people with disabilities instead of opportunities. But success looks different for everyone, and the world works better when people with disabilities are empowered to thrive.

This year’s Disability Pride Month theme is “The World Works Better With Us.” Carson, who has cerebral palsy, shares what that means to him: “There are many different kinds of disabilities, but we are just as human as you. We deserve to live independently, be active in our community, receive education, vote, and so much more, just like everyone else.”
